Well once again Archie and I managed to do the Monteberg Rally Sprint in April, it was a very wet day, but we were unable to beat our previous years times, next up was the Wervik Rally 12 stages 3 loops of stages done 4 times, a very good compact event, this time l was co-driven by a new co-driver from Burnley Neil Bye he fancied a go at a Belguim event, we got off to a reasonable start on SS1 then a hugh accident caused SS2 to be cancelled ( An Evo rolled into a Mini sized ball, co-driver airlifted to hospital with broken fibia and lower vertebrae, so next stage the car in front crashed, causing us to be yellow flagged as they were still in the car but OK, at the regroup we lost the starter a wire had been dislodged proberly on the rough 1 km section, but we managed to push start it and returned to service and it was fixed ok, the next stage was a repeat the car in front went off on a 90 right and again we were yellow flagged, the next stages were fine , but on the way back to theregroup Neil sent the wrong way and we dropped 9mins, getting us a 1min 30 sec penalty, anyway as we had dropped 30secs with the yellow flags a good class finish was looking very unlikely, the next stage we lost the brakes, so again lost about 15 secs, at the service brake fluid renewed and bled we had no problems with the rest of the stages, overall a good compact event, and without our penalties we could have picked up 3rd in class or even better.
